Designing the identity of Munich’s new media artists.

The challenge

Creating a visual voice for a diverse artist collective, spanning from traditional illustrators to new media artists.

The solution

I created a range of visual assets for exhibitions, including posters and social media content. The work combined traditional design methods, such as layout development in InDesign, with experimental approaches like creative coding to reflect the innovative and edgy spirit of the shows. Beyond designing the materials, I also took on a creative direction role, shaping the overall visual identity of the exhibitions.

The creative process

Pen and paper is usually a good place to start any creative project. After going through brainstorming meetings and creating initial sketches, a mood board and lofi-sketches were created. Soon, it was obvious that the visual identity had to reflect opposites: analog and digital, traditional and emerging had to stand next to each other.

The impact

Lasting awareness and full gallery openings, with some events even requiring an RSVP list.

The team

Several members of the artist collective Fobin created assets to be used in posters, social media content and other material.
