The challenge
Developing a full jump-and-run videogame with little to no experience creating video games.
The solution
“Fobin - Wrath of the A.I.” is a video game with a 8/16-bit retro aesthetic, which draws inspiration from retro-futuristic design elements while incorporating wild and psychedelic animations for a visual twist.
Set in a post-apocalyptic world, the story follows our hero, Fobin, the last survivor of humanity, as he battles an army of AI-driven demon robots, recognizable by having too many fingers. With the combination of nostalgic visuals and experimental animations, we aimed to make this an unforgettable experience.
The game was developed in Unity, is fully playable and was presented at “Unser Erstes Mal” at LMU.
The creative process
The concept of the game was created through several brainstorming sessions. Dividing tasks in Notion, the game was developed collaboratively in Unity, coded, tested and refined.
The impact
The fully playable prototype was presented at “Unser Erstes Mal” at LMU in Munich, Germany, having an addictive effect on its users.
